Our showroom and design studio is a house located just below the Martha Washington Inn and the Barter Theatre. We are on the same side of the street as the Martha Washington Inn and directly across the street from Abingdon United Methodist Church. We are the middle of three brick homes built in th 1800s. Our hours are Monday through Saturday 9AM until 6PM, closed on Sunday. We have a beautiful showroom with expanded merchandise and a full repair/restoration shop along with a private office for custom design services. We offer many services including watch batteries, watch bands, ring sizing, chain repair, eye glass welding, restoration of jewelry and custom designs.
Mark and Michelle Goodman opened the store in Abingdon in 1988. Mikel Goodman, Mark’s older brother, owns and operates the store in Chilhowie. Together, we offer appraisals, remounts, repairs, and sales of fine jewelry along with specializing in the design and creation of custom jewelry. We search out the finest sources for your diamonds and colored gemstones to complete your custom jewelry design. We have many clients from throughout the tri-cities region of Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City, as well as across the United States and many foreign countries. We consider it an honor to have our jewelry worn by clients from southwest Virginia, east Tennessee and beyond.
Mark Goodman is a Graduate Gemologist(GIA) and an accomplished jewelry designer. Mark Goodman is also a member of the Virginia Highlands Community College Foundation Board. Michelle Goodman is an Accredited Jewelry Professional (GIA) as well as a graduate of the GIA Pearl Studies. We are members of the following buying groups, jewelry associations, and community groups:

We also specialize in bridal jewelry. We were named one of the Top Wedding Vendors in Virginia by Virginia Living Magazine readers for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017,2018, 2019 and 2020 as well as one of the Top Fine Jewelry Stores in Southwest Virginia for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. We specialize in engagement rings, wedding bands, diamond earrings, diamond pendants, and diamond bracelets. We do work with most colored gemstones, and we offer a wide range of sterling silver fashion jewelry from various designers.
We are known as Southwest Virginia’s custom jeweler. We create many of our own pieces, and we offer full custom design and manufacturing services to our clients. We have in house jewelers for setting, repairs, and alterations. By using highly skilled specialists, we are able to make our jewelry designs and quality look different than most mass produced jewelry. We can create that special one of a kind item for you. We offer diamonds of any size and shape in mostly Good to Very Good cut grades. We will be glad to work with you on special orders as well.
We purchase diamonds from legitimate suppliers that provide written assurances of compliance with the Kimberley Process and are not involved in funding conflict.
We also buy gold, silver, and diamonds from the public. We are licensed and bonded in the towns of Abingdon and Chilhowie to buy precious metals and gems from the public. Our scales are certified by the State of Virginia’s Department of Weights and Measures. We also will buy larger diamonds of higher quality. We pay cash on the spot.
