Same Day Ring Sizing and Appraisal Services

Many of our clients use us for ring sizing, chain repair, and appraisal services. We handle a large number of those every week. In our quest to improving our customer service, we are now offering more personal by appointment concierge services. I have experimented with it lately and have found that our clients really like it. Here is how it works.

Let’s say that you have a ring to be sized. We take in a large amount of work nearly 6 days per week. We are not physically able to complete all of these projects in the same day. Normally you would walk in to our store without an appointment and leave the ring from 3 to 7 days depending upon how much work we have in front of you. However, with our new appointment service, you can call or email me for an appointment to have your ring sized, repaired, appraised, whatever it needs. Once I see it and discuss it with you, we can price it and then begin the work. You can stroll Abingdon for a short time and when we have completed the work a text message or an email will be sent to you telling you the work is finished! It has worked beautifully this past week in our beta testing. I had a couple email me for an appointment on Saturday. They drove up from Johnson City and met with me Saturday afternoon. After we discussed the ring with them, we checked her correct finger size and began sizing her platinum ring. They went to a few places in town and within about 90 minutes a text message was sent telling them that the ring was finished! They simply came back in and picked it up and went back to Johnson City. Easy service and very convenient for the client.

Again, not everything can be done in the same afternoon, but a lot of things can be providing you schedule an appointment with me ahead of time. I did an appraisal for an out of town client a few weeks ago using this service. We looked at the diamond ring together so that they knew exactly what it looked like under magnification as well as all of the measurements. Then, they did a few errands and in just a couple of hours an email was sent to them telling them the appraisal was finished. They came back and picked everything up that afternoon on their way home. In some situations, you could schedule your appointment to be handled before lunch and then come back after you have lunch to pick up the item. Again, not every item is suitable for this type of work and some items will take more than a day to work on, especially if parts need to be ordered. But, many pieces of jewelry can be worked on in this fashion.

We have a limited number of appointments that can be handled daily. Some work might require 2 to 4 hours depending upon the complexity of the work. You must have an appointment scheduled for us to work with you on this service, otherwise it is a walk-in repair and it will be scheduled as such. For this type of work, you must make your appointment with Mark Goodman. You should email me at mark@goodmanjewelers.biz or call me at 276-676-3110. Please ask for me to schedule your appointment as I will have a few questions regarding what we are going to be doing and what you have that needs service. Not all services are available everyday, so you should contact me at least one day before you want to schedule your appointment at a minimum. Once I fill up the appointments for that day, new ones will have to go to the next available day, so call or email me as early as you can to get it set up. Pricing is quoted once we see the item and before work is performed.
